High Precision Cylindrical Optics

BERLINER GLAS Group manufactures high precision cylindrical optics in a variety of sizes and shapes for applications such as, in line projectors, collimators, astigmatism correction units, beam expanders and homogenizers for some laser applications.BERLINER GLAS Group offers plano convex and plano concave cylindrical lenses for high precision applications in focal length ranges between 10 and 3500 Millimetres. The lens width can vary from 3 mm to 300 mm depending on focal length. Axial lengths from 3 mm to 500 mm are standard, but larger sizes are available on request.Custom periphery configurations can be shaped using CNC technology.The control of surface accuracy and centring are very important features:BERLINER GLAS Group offers high precision cylindrical lenses with surface accuracy of λ/8 in the axis direction and λ/4 in curvature.Centring tolerances of as low as 20 arc seconds is available for small radii of curvature. Larger radii, up to 1500 mm, can be made to centring tolerances of 2 arc minute. Similar values can be met for wedge tolerances.Cylindrical optics can be manufactured from optical glass, glass ceramics, quartz glass or synthetic fused silica.Berliner Glas Group also offers a variety of thin film coatings to meet customer's requirements.
