Lightweight glass structures are used wherever large-volume substrates are called for and the weight is to be dramatically reduced.
BERLINER GLAS offers CNC-manufactured lightweight structures on a standard basis in a size of up to 450 mm x 450 mm and a maximum thickness of 100 mm. Furthermore, individual sizes can be manufac-tured according to customer specifications.
The processing procedure of BERLINER GLAS ensures a high level of rigidity and fracture strength of the substrate. The wall thickness is at a minimum of 1 mm depending on the size of the substrate.
Weight reductions of over 80% are achieved by processing the sub-strates. Up to 90% can be achieved, depending on the material, size of the substrate and the planned application.
The lightweight structures can be applied to the full substrate or onto individual parts that are bonded after the processing. |
