BERLINER GLAS develops different techniques for the optimization of optical surfaces.
Local mechanical corrections as well as the treatment with an ion gun allow the production of optical components with a diameter of up to 600 mm with excellent flatness.
Today, a flatness of Lambda/40 at 632 nm can already be supplied.
In 2003 it will be possible to achieve a flatness of Lambda/100.
Several glass types, fused silica and, of course, glass ceramics like Zerodur can be processed. Mounting aspects can be considered for the compensation of gravity.
Such ultra precise surfaces can be used as standards for measurements or as ambitious mirror substrate. |
